Become a Reporter!
If you enjoy listening to fire-rescue radios and scanners, consider becoming a APSN Reporter. Our new Training Materials will help you quickly become a productive member of the APSN Team.
We provide each reporter with the proper tools to access the alerting system. If you live in a remote area with relatively few emergencies, you can still contribute to the network by reporting incidents submitted by others. The only equipment required is access to an internet-connected computer or an email-capable wireless device.
Reporters receive APSN service for free.
POTENTIAL REPORTERS ARE EVALUATED BASED ON THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:
- The agencies they monitor and their amount of monitoring
- Ability to understand and follow provided training materials
- Availability and commitment to dispatch a minimum of five (5) incidents per month. This is usually a very attainable goal.
Probationary Reporters can hone their skills by sending practice alerts to a special "Training CAD " before going "live" on the system.
